Expectations

What to expect at your first appointment

  • Introductions and disclosures regarding the practice.

  • Obtaining a comprehensive history that includes medical, social, and psychological histories of both you the patient and your family.

  • Discussion of past and current psychiatric treatments and experience with therapy and whether or not it was effective.

  • Review of current symptoms that you brought to this appointment.

  • Completion of relevant questionnaires and rating scales.

  • Discussion of goals of treatment.

  • Open dialogue of thoughts, concerns, and questions regarding treatment options including whether or not we are a good fit for each other.
